The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation has an ingenious plan to make the most of the train’s stationary days: convert it into a restaurant.
“The train is usually stationed at Baiyappanahalli or sometimes in Whitefield when it is not being operated. We are thinking about converting it into an accommodation only, of course with lower tariffs. Or we could run only the restaurant,” said Mr. Pushkar.
The train has two full-fledged kitchens, as well as cabins that are nothing but small-sized hotel rooms, complete with their own attached bathrooms, to suit either of the KSTDC’s plan.
