Fish fans in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu will now get to have quality fish dishes thanks to the first fish restaurant opened by the Tamil Nadu Fisheries Development Corporation on April 11, ’15.
This is the third initiative of the corporation, which has already started fish stalls, where sales touch about Rs 50,000 on Sundays and other holidays. Besides a state-of-the-art fish marketing stall had been constructed at the cooperative society premises near the bus stand.
The corporation also plans to start a mobile fish shop. The Corporation Deputy manager E Kuppurangan said that despite being close to the sea coast, cost of fish dishes in hotels was exorbitant.”We want to check the high cost of fish food in hotels and help people in the area get fish food at reasonable rates,” he said.
The restaurant would be open from 10:00-16:00 hrs, daily.
