Launching the third OS app will include a vital & growing segment for greater reach. Overall, Zomato Order is a lighter app, separate to the main Zomato.
The Zomato Order app which was so far available for iOS and Android has now also launched its Windows Phone app. The app for this new OS indicates a shifting trend in the three-way battle for mobile OS supremacy as the new generation Windows phones gain good ground in the middle & below segments.
The Windows app has a lot of the benefits of its iOS & Android cousins with essential e-commerce features expected in due course such as online payments, search filters and promo codes.
Meanwhile, the company also rolled out Zomato Order, its online ordering service across 14 cities in India. It is now available in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Indore, Chandigarh, Kochi, Jaipur and Coimbatore.
“As the appetite for food ordering continues to grow in India, we’re making sure we are giving our users the best product experience through our online ordering service. For restaurant businesses, we’re focused on building products that connect restaurants to consumers and we believe that this feature is a key building block for the seamless, one-stop experience”, said Deepinder Goyal, founder & CEO, Zomato.
