WBG wins Best Restaurant award at ‘World on a Plate’


Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield won the ‘Best Restaurant of the Year’ award at the ‘World on a Plate’ food festival. The property’s newly opened restaurant, Whitefield Bar and Grill (WBG) appealed to the visiting chefs, Matt, Gary and George (of Masterchef Australia fame), with its signature dish, the Soya Chaap.

‘World on a Plate’, which was held in Bangalore between June 4th and 5th 2016, is the first ever International Food Festival to be organised in India and featured popular chefs of the culinary world- Matt, Gary and George. Restaurants in the city participated in the contest in an attempt to impress the world-renowned chefs. WBG’s Soya Chaap, a vegetarian offering prepared by Chef Sanjeev, was successful in achieving the daunting task and was preferred by Matt, Gary and George.

Delighted at receiving the award, Nicholas Dumbell, GM, Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield, said, “We are absolutely thrilled on receiving the prestigious award from Matt, Gary and George, who are icons in the hospitality industry.
