It always was a chicken, says a satisfied KFC, as test disproves the rat angle.
A US man’s claim that he was served a fried ‘rat’ at a KFC restaurant in California has been debunked with a DNA test of the meat, the company has said, days after the photo posted by the man on social media went viral.
A third-party independent lab tested the product and determined it was undoubtedly a piece of chicken, KFC said in a statement.
The man who made the claim “Wasn’t co-operating with an investigation,” so his attorney obtained the ‘rat’ and gave it for testing, a KFC official said, adding: “The right thing for this customer to do is to apologize.”
Los Angeles resident Devorise Dixon had posted an image on Facebook on June 12 of a piece of fried meat that he claimed was a rat.
