The party is only warming up at Cyber Hub, Gurgaon. Back in business after a whole dry month, the 33 pubs and restaurants that got clearance from the Haryana Excise Department to resume serving alcohol from May 4, have a range of offers for customers.
These establishments had been suffering losses following the Supreme Court’s ban, effective from April 1, on the sale and serving of liquor within 500m of any national highway. Following a remeasurement of distance, several establishments in Sector 29 and Cyber Hub were given clearance.
Since then, the red carpet has been rolled out for party-goers.
In the mood for some sangria or tequila shots after a long, tiring day? Imperfecto, Cyber Hub, is hosting a sangria fest till May 31. It gets you two-plus-one glass and one-pitcher-plus-half, apart from day-long tequila happy hours. Naresh Madan, director, Imperfecto, says, “Cyber Hub is ‘wet’ again, and we’ve got some fabulous deals on sangria and tequila. Also, we have a great artist line-up in terms of the live gigs at Imperfecto — that’s our way to announce that this is the time to party.”
And if you’re a corporate employee working around Cyber Hub, the bill will be smaller for you. “We have 10 per cent discounts for corporate staff working in and around Cyber Hub till June 4. People love to listen to Bollywood, so we have an array of Bollywood bands playing every Saturday,” says Manvi Chaudhary, director, Pier 38.
Farzi Café has a buy-two-get-one-free deal on liquor from Sunday to Thursday (11pm to 1am), and an all-inclusive Rs 900 offer (4pm to 7.30pm) that includes unlimited Kingfisher Premium and two unlimited nano plates. The restaurant is also hosting a mango festival, offering a range of dishes and drinks, using the king of fruits in salads, tapas and drinks.
Zorawar Kalra, owner, Farzi Cafe, says, “These past 34 days, we’ve had a 50 per cent drop in sales and a major drop in footfall. Farzi Café never offers any deals, but just to spread the word, we’re providing amazing deals from 4pm to 7pm and then 11pm to 1am on liquor. We have come up with an expansive menu, featuring the king of fruits to delight guests.”
If you need an adrenaline rush along with your booze, head to Soi7. “We have muay thai (kick-boxing) night every Thursday and Friday to offer customers a different medium of entertainment. Cyber Hub is a great landmark in Gurgaon NCR. People were missing the great times,” says Lalit Ahlawat, Director, Soi7. “We are a Pan-Asian restaurant and we’re going to add more cuisines and have more frequent live performances,” he adds.
Raasta, a Caribbean-themed lounge, is tapping into the power of music to bring in more customers, and has doubled the pub’s dance floor — 400 sq. ft to 800 sq. ft. Joy Singh, partner, Raasta, says, “We’ve changed the layout of the outlet completely, made it vertical as compared to horizontal, with a larger area for people to dance. We are a music-based lounge. Earlier, we used to have a band every Sunday, but [now], we’ll have more music-based events with good producers and DJs on Fridays and Saturdays and live bands on Sundays.”
