NEW DELHI: Listed food services company Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL), which operates Domino’s and Dunkin Donuts in the country, on Wednesday announced the launch of its first own restaurant brand Hong’s Kitchen. This venture marks JFL’s entry into the Chinese cuisine segment, and its third restaurant brand in India.
ET had first reported in October 2018 that JFL had begun a test-run of a Chinese fast food venture, its first home-grown brand.
JFL chairman Shyam S. Bhartia said in a statement: “This underlines our confidence in the growth potential of the Indian food service market in the coming years. Hong’s Kitchen will help us venture into Chinese cuisine for the first time and together with existing brands Domino’s and Dunkin, will help build a stronger portfolio for JFL.”
Chinese food is the second largest consumed cuisine in the country. Positioned as a fast casual format brand, JFL said in the statement that the new restaurant chain will address the gap between street vendors and premium fine dining.
The listed JFL operates 1,200 Domino’s Pizza restaurants and 32 Dunkin’ Donuts outlets.
