The soon-to-launch portal enables e-commerce for a wide array of tourist services including events, restaurants and festivals.
The yet un-named portal by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) will allow tourists to book music festivals to restaurant tables, cooking classes to heritage sites, hotels rooms, heritage homes to water sports, walking trails and river cruises.
The GTDC wants all possible tourism trade activities to be covered on the portal for which 100+ local tourism trade operators have signed up for the service.
“This will be the first venture of its kind to be launched by a tourism organisation in India. GTDC will make available a variety of Goa Tourism products on one platform,” said Nilesh Cabral, chairman, GTDC.
“This is an opportunity for locals to generate revenue through this portal, thereby making it beneficial for the residents of Goa and tourists alike. The suppliers will need to register under the GTDC web portal to market their products and services,” he said.
The portal will also have a mobile application and will be available in six foreign languages Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, German and French, in addition to Hindi and English. It is expected to be backed by a 12-hour call centre service that will make the process of booking and query resolution simpler.
