UAE-based Rainbow Hospitality group to expand operations in Kerala

KOCHI: The UAE-based Rainbow Hospitality group is planning to spread its operations in Kerala.

The group which runs several restaurants in Dubai and Sharjah and has strong presence in the food catering business has begun services in the state starting from Kochi. “ We have set up a Rs 6 crore centralised kitchen at Njarrakal in Kochi which can make 10,000 dishes daily for catering,’’ John Manjooran, CEO of the group said.

The group will open its services in Kannur and Kozhikode districts next month. Its next centralised kitchen will be started in Kannur. “ Our aim is to cover all districts in the state over the course of time,’’ Manjooran said.

The group will also open outlets selling its branded food products like biriyani and meat dishes. The first two will open in Kochi. In future it has plans to start a restaurant in Kochi.

Manjooran said the group takes special care in collecting the raw materials for its dishes including meat and spices. “ We don’t buy proprietary spice brands but procure and process it ourselves. We also have specific standards for buying meat and other ingredients,’’ Manjooran said

The group that has been doing business in West Asia for the last 40 years is shifting its focus gradually to Kerala fearing weak business prospects there in future.
