NEW DELHI: Europe’s leading Pan-Asian Wok Kitchen brand, Wok to Walk, which got into India market towards the end of last year through a Master Franchisee has set up three outlets in the last six months and will be embarking on an aggressive expansion in the Indian market through a mix of own outlets and sub-franchisee route. The Master Franchisee, Kram Infracon, is in the process of finalising sub-franchisees for six key Indian cities in the coming months.

According Gautam Kamra, General Manager -India, Wok to Walk, the company will be finalising the sub-franchisees for Delhi NCR, Jaipur, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Dehradun, and Lucknow soon. He said that the company has started the “filtering” process based on the queries received and would be finalising partnerships shortly. He said that they would be considering the capabilities of the partner in opening multiple outlets within a city or a region for partnerships. While their target is to open at least 100 outlets of Wok to Walk in the next five years, Kamra said that their target for this year is to see at least 10 new outlets opened.

Talking about the concept behind the brand and the format, Kamra said that Wok to Walk  has a strong focus on healthy food with high nutrition value. “With rice and noodles  as the base, customers can select their favourite toppings. The food is prepared in front of the customer and served within five minutes of taking the order. We don’t use MSG in our food, that is our USP,” he said.

Wok to Walk specialises in custom-made, fresh, nutritious, and quick stir-fried Asian cuisine. The first Wok to Walk restaurant opened in Amsterdam in 2004, and currently have about 100 QSR outlets in 15 countries.
