BENGALURU: To ensure that every commercial and residential building follows fire safety norms, the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Service personnel will launch an online service on Thursday, where the public can avail a No Objection Certificate (NOC) without any hassle.
Agni-II, a fire approval system will help the owners of public buildings, residential apartments, commercial establishments, factories, industries and businesses to get a NOC from the fire department through an online process.
A fire department officer said, “Agni-II is platform where anyone can apply for NOC. They will have to fill the forms with all the necessary details and should pay the prescribed amount of fees. After which, a fire service personnel team will visit the spot for inspection and if the norms are being followed, the officials will process the application. If not, the application will be rejected and the party will have to apply again after rectifying the short comings.”
The officer also mentioned that while filling the application, there are few questions regarding the fire safety norms and if anything is not applicable, then the applicant cannot continue to fill the form. “While filling the applications, the system will check if the applicant has ensured that the compulsory questions are filled, failing which the applicant cannot continue,” added the officer.
Another official from fire department said that now the entire system will be more transparent, as there is no room for mistakes.
“It will make the task easy for the public that there is no need for them to spend time to get NOC. The process is easy and will be done without wasting time.
They must follow the list of fire safety norm mentioned by the department for every establishment like restaurant, pubs, malls, apartments and many more. If rules are followed then getting a NOC will be easy,” he added.
