In the recent past, we’ve been informed that some individuals/agencies are sending proposals to restaurateurs for posting paid/fake reviews for their restaurants on behalf of customers on online portals like Zomato etc.  This issue has been taken up with the concerned portals for appropriate action.

Based on our feedback, Zomato has informed us that soon a badge would be pinned alongside the restaurant’s name which has used such services to generate fake reviews for themselves on the portal. This badge will denote that the portal’s confidence in the reviews & ratings of that restaurant is low because of a suspicious spam activity.

This is to inform all members that whenever such an approach is made by any individual/ agency for posting fake reviews, it should not be entertained and immediately reported to NRAI for further action.
