Consumer stores to house supermarkets, rooftop restaurants

Jaipur: New supermarkets and rooftop restaurants are proposed in consumer stores to augment income by increasing businesses of institutions through linkages.
Rooftop restaurants would be opened in cooperative sector at Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Udaipur, registrar of cooperatives Niraj K Pawan said on Monday.Pawan said Gram Seva Sahkari Samitis (GSSS) and Kray Vikray Sahkari Samitis (KVSS) will develop mandi yard to increase their income.
He said in the first phase, those cooperative societies having land will be issued licences for mandi yards. In this regard, he directed agriculture and cooperative department officers to hold meeting at the district level.
In another development, cooperative department principal secretary Naresh Pal Gangwar said the premium of PM Crop Insurance Scheme of farmers, who had availed the crop loan from cooperative banks, will have to be deposited by January 15.
Gangwar said premium of approximately 10 lakh farmers who had taken farm loans for Rabi season or those whose credit limit has been approved, will be sent to the company concerned.
Addressing cooperative department officers through video conferencing from the secretariat, Gangwar said he directed the managing directors of cooperative banks to get crop insurance of farmers in locust affected areas by January 15. He also said all investigations related to loan waiver complaints should be completed within a month.
The principal secretary informed that video conferencing will be done every month to achieve the expected targets.
A meeting will be held every three months at section offices to be addressed by the principal secretary and registrar, cooperatives. The first such meeting will be held in Ajmer.
Gangwar said all the societies registered under the Cooperative Act will have to upload information on Raj Sahkar portal by March 31, and in case if information is not uploaded, strict action will be taken against the society’s CEO and district deputy registrar.
Pawan directed the officials to generate awareness among farmers who have not yet registered themselves under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and to get them registered. He said 5% of the accounts in the districts will be physically verified. He asked the officials to correct the wrong IFSC code and bank accounts of farmers.
The registrar directed the Cooperative Land Development Banks secretaries to complete the loan disbursement process of farmers by March 31.
