In January 2011, Mumbai’s trendy SoBo district opened its space to a tranquil, timeless restaurant, The Table. The restaurant is located in the Colaba area of South Bombay, just behind the famous Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and the iconic Gateway of India. Owners Jay Yousuf and Gauri Devidayal, teamed up with the San Francisco Bay area’s consultant Chef Joey Altman and Executive Chef Alex Sanchez to conceptualise The Table, which is simple, approachable, and delicious. The service is friendly and professional without pretension, and the food is intended for sharing in order to encourage the notion of community.
