NRAI’s new leadership, comprising Sagar Daryani as the President and Pranav Rungta and Zorawar Kalra as Vice Presidents, is poised to drive positive changes
At its Annual General Meeting, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) announced Sagar Daryani, CEO and Co-Founder of Wow! Momo, as the new President.
In addition, Pranav Rungta continues his tenure from last year as Vice President, stepping in to take Sagar’s place and rounding off the leadership team with Zorawar Kalra as the new Vice President. However, the candidates for national managing committee members and all chapter heads and co-chapter heads are still under discussion and will be announced soon.
Expressing his gratitude, Sagar remarked, “I am honoured to be given this opportunity as President to lead the National Restaurant Association of India into its next chapter of growth. The NRAI today has over 5 lakh restaurants as its members, and as a team, we will strive to continue to expand the presence of the NRAI across the country by setting up several more chapters. Most importantly, I look forward to working alongside Pranav, Zorawar, and the rest of the National Managing Committee, which will be announced soon, at both the state and central levels to find resolutions to issues like GST and input tax credit, association status, and several other prominent industry-wide issues.”
While making the new announcements, Riyaaz Amlani, Past President and Trustee of NRAI, said, “On behalf of the NRAI and our membership community, we would like to congratulate the new President, Sagar Daryani, as well as Pranav and Zorawar, our new Vice Presidents. I have full confidence that the new leadership team is a group of accomplished leaders who will drive our association and industry forward. We also thank immediate past President Kabir Suri for his service and impactful efforts in a variety of strategic areas. Lastly, I want to thank our members for contributing their time and efforts to try and make doing business in our industry as seamless as possible.”
This leadership transition comes at a critical juncture for the Indian restaurant and food service industry, which stands on the brink of transformative change.
Under the stewardship of Sagar Daryani and Kabir Suri, NRAI has expanded its influence across the country, growing from 6 to 20 chapters nationwide. Sagar Daryani has been a consistent and vocal advocate for the industry. His leadership has established him as a champion for fairness and integrity within the fraternity.
As the food and restaurant industry continues to evolve, NRAI’s new leadership is poised to drive positive changes. The organisation also recognises and deeply appreciates the tremendous efforts of outgoing President Kabir Suri, whose contributions have laid the foundation for this exciting new phase.
Also attending the 42nd AGM of NRAI were Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Rahul Singh from The Beer Café, Anurag Katriar from Indigo, Dheeraj Gupta from Jumboking, Riyaaz Amlani from Social, Aditya Ladsaria from Chai Break, Sharad Batra from Café Delhi Heights, along with many other prominent restaurateurs.
