The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI), which has elected Sagar Daryani, co-founder of Wow! Momo Foods, as its new president, we focus on core issues facing the sector such as GST and Input Tax Credit
Speaking at the NRAI Annual General Meeting, Daryani said: “We will strive to expand the presence of the NRAI across the country by setting up several more chapters. The national managing committee which will be announced soon, will continue to expand to find resolutions to several other prominent industry-wide issues.”
Zorawar Kalra, founder and managing director, Massive Restaurants, has been appointed as vice president, while Pranav Rungta, director, Mint Hospitality, continues as vice-president.
The leadership transition comes at a critical juncture for the Indian restaurant and food service industry.
The domestic food services sector is expected to be valued at Rs 7.76 lakh crore by year 2028, growing from Rs 5.7 lakh crore currently, the NRAI had said in its food services report released this July.
