Ashish Kothare
Chapter Head, Bengaluru and Member, Managing Committee, NRAI
CEO, Crown Hospitality
The first industry placement was in a flight kitchen sector as a trainee in the kitchen. Ashish moved on to Sarawak, East Malaysia where his father was posted & tried to get a job in the hotel industry there. But things were not so easy & landed up becoming a Disc Jockey.
Back in India after 2.5 years, he pursued this vocation till a chance encounter with his earlier mentor Jaspal Gandhi who guided him back into the hotel industry.
Ashish became an entrepreneur in 1989 and went on to establish his first restaurant Jukebox in Bangalore. After 5 years & establishing the brand, he sold it.
Alongside this venture, he was flirting with his own event management & travel companies, but the hospitality sector attachment would not die. In 2004, Legends of Rock was born & two years later yet another place called Le Rock Pub Café took shape. This was not enough so, in 2011 Kothare created Moscow Mule Bar & Grill.
What the future has in store only time will tell, he said at that time. That was the end of 2011 now with a new zest in 2013, he launched a 6,000 sq. ft. area called Roadhouse – Bar, Gastropub & Dining on 100 ft. Road, Indiranagar, Bengaluru.
Ashish says “Being at the right place at the right time is expanding horizons”.
