With Zomato Order, it offers last-mile food delivery business for restaurants with no delivery option.
Zomato has outsourced this hot sector service via three start-ups; Delhivery, Grab and Pickingo.
“Every restaurant packs food if you want to take it home, but they do not indulge in home delivery as they may have a shortage of manpower. We have now tied up with these services to get on board all such restaurants that do not typically do home delivery,” saidDeepinder Goyal, founder & CEO, Zomato.
Zomato’s aim is that customers can now place orders from even 5-star restaurants, which till now have been outside the purview of home delivery. It already has a couple of 5-stars hotels on board and is close to signing a few more. “We have seen overwhelming response and many restaurants have signed up exclusively for Zomato’s service. We will ensure the price of the food you have ordered remains the same and we have already started the service last weekend,” says Goyal.
