Virat Kohli opens new restaurant Nueva: 5 Other Indian Cricketers in the hospitality business!

Virat Kohli recently opened his new hotel, Nueva in Delhi and the entire Royal Challengers Bangalore team was there to support and encourage their skipper in the new venture. RCB crickter Shane Watson posted a picture with Virat at the New Delhi restaurant and shared the news of Virat Kohli the businessman’s latest venture on social media. Virat Kohli now joins the long list of cricketers like Sa chin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Zaheer Khan and other cricketers in opening their own restaurants. Virat, who already has a long list of ventures like fashion clothing brand, WROGN, ISL team FC Goa and others is now a proud restaurant owner.
Virat Kohli’s Nueva serves authentic South American food and the menu has some more inspirations from Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Japan and Asian food. From pan-sneared Duckes to Peruvian piscos, the restaurant has some unique signature dishes that is bound to woe you. While the restaurant is already open for the people and is getting some brilliant reviews, Virat is yet to receive the alcohol license. Located in RK Puram, Delhi, this restaurant has already become extremely popular thanks to Virat’s association as well as the out of the box dishes that are served here. As we congragulate the Indian skipper on finally entering the hospitality business, here is a list of top five cricketers who have entered the business of hospitality.

1. Sachin Tendulkar

The God of Cricket, Sachin Tendulkar began his business ventures with his first restaurant, Tendulkars which was opened in Mummbai back in 2002. Tendulkars was a joint venture of Sachin and well-known hotelier Sanjay Narang. The cricketer expanded his business by opening another restaurant in northern Mumbai called Sachin’s. A branch of this hotel has also been opened in Bangalore.

2. Zaheer Khan

Zaheer Khan has tasted some success in the hotel industry. Zaheer opened his first hotel ZK’s in 2004-05 and went on to expand and opened a new lounge called Toss in 2013. Zaheer also owns a banquet that holds corporate events called Banquet Foyer. While cricket has always been a priority for Zaheer the Delhi Daredeveils player once said that he enjoyed these ventures and it was a learning experience.

3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja was clear on his future plans even before having a fixed spot in the Indian cricket team. The ace bowler set up his own restaurant, Jaddu’s Food Field in Rajkot on 12th December 2012. The restaurant was launched while Jadeja was out with the Indian Test team as Jadeja did not want to delay the opening date which holds a special meaning for the cricketer. Jadeja revealed that he considers 12 to be his lucky number and wears a number 12 jersey.

4. Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara

The Sri Lankan team mates, Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara have a friendship that is famous in the world of cricket. The Sri Lankan players turned their friendship into business when they came together and opened renowned chef Dharshan Munise to start The Ministry of Crab in Colombo. The restaurant is famous for its sea food delicacies, especially the crab dishes and the Sri Lankan duo enjoy working together in this venture.

5. Chris Gayle

Virat Kohli’s team mate from Royal Challengers Bangalore is known all over the world for his life style which has been full of parties. The West Indian batsman opened his own restaurant called Triple Century Sports Bar back home in Jamaica. Chris Gyale enjoys his off time by throwing parties and enjoying the casual Jamaican life at his retro bar and the bar has some geat review and is quite famous in Jamaica.
