Unique craft beers at this restaurant in UB City

on

Massive restaurants, the brand behind Farzi Cafe and Made in Punjab, launched their brewed beers last weekend at UB City. The beers take inspiration from local flavours blended with the finest Belgian malts, hops from around the world and multiple strains of yeast. Founder and managing director, Zorawar Kalra, says, “Our endeavour, since inception, has been to continuously offer our guests a consistent, sensory dining experience, integrated with the latest technology and the highest form of culinary innovation.” We went for a tasting to see how the beer stacks up with the other breweries in town.

The Hefeweizen, a wheat beer, has fruity notes of banana and finishes with flavours of clove. The spicy sweetness made it a win in our book. Their IPA, called Massive Indian Pale Ale is amber and creamy, and boasts a tropical flavour. The hint of earthiness is what elevates this otherwise commonly available option. Their signature beer on the menu is the Massive Masala Saison. The medium-bodied beer has a unique spicy flavour thanks to the pepper in the recipe and a citrusy freshness because of the lemon and orange. However, our personal favourite on the menu was their Chocolate Stout. The ebony drink has chocolate, coffee and even a hint of vanilla.

“With the launch of craft beers in UB City, we want to delight our patrons with the finest quality brews, each exhibiting a unique flavour profile to enhance the overall culinary experience,” Zorawar signs off.
