McDonald’s is the biggest fast-food chain in the world with more than 35,000 restaurants in 119 countries. According to official food data, the company feeds about 68 million people every day, 1% of the world’s total population

While fast-food companies Burger King, KFC, Wendy’s, Subway & Jack in The Box have gained a lot of popularity in Europe and Asia, McDonald’s still remains the most preferred takeaway and quick service restaurant in the world.

Its fans are known to be very loyal and hardy and have stood by the company during several lows.

But none are as loyal as 83-year-old Tom Jones and his 82-year-old wife Pauline.

The elderly couple claims to have eaten at McDonald’s every day for the past 23 years and even credits the fast-food company in helping them to keep slim and fit.

The couple told LadBible they walk two and a half miles every day to reach their nearest McDonald’s outlet at Southgate Street, Bath (England).

“We come in here seven-days-a-week, every day. Other than when we’ve been on holiday, we haven’t missed a day in 23 years,” said Tom who usually prefers eating BigMac. Pauline, on the other hand, changes her order regularly.

“We like coming back here every single day because of the friendliness. The staff are always so helpful – we even feel like part of the building – part of the furniture. We always feel as though they know who we are and they’re so kind. Mind you I always say ‘thank you’, and I think that goes a long way,” said Pauline.

The 82-year-old said that all the talks about McDonald’s food making people fat and unhealthy is ‘nonsense’.

However, she added that she exercises regularly with her husband to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle.

The owner of the McDonald’s put let at Southgate Street, Paul Person, said that Tom and Pauline are the ‘perfect symbols’ of the type of community the company strives to create.

“It’s a great honour to be the franchise here. It’s a beautiful city, a beautiful place to work and it had a great sense of community,” he said.
