High quality restaurant-grade food is collected & distributing to 60 NGOs serving 6,500 children, families, seniors, veterans & the homeless.
A number of restaurants, food service businesses and caterers have teamed up to support ‘We Don’t Waste’ a nonprofit organization that works to alleviate hunger in Colorado.
The idea is to reduce waste by collecting high quality restaurant grade food and distributing it to other community organizations that provide food to children, families, seniors, veterans and the homeless. We Don’t Waste serves more than 6,500 food-insecure individuals daily, by providing food to 60 different nonprofits.
In addition, high profile chefs in the city have gotten involved to help raise USD 90,000 to buy a new refrigerated truck to help with distribution. Troy Guard from Guard and Grace and Tag, Nikki Olst of Epicurean Catering and Marco Ramirez of the Palm started the ‘Tag You’re It’ campaign. They’ve already raised half of the money needed to buy the truck.
