Coca-Cola India, is one of the country’s leading beverage companies, offering a range of healthy, safe, high quality, refreshing beverage options to consumers. These include juices, sparkling beverages, flavoured milk, packaged water, tea and coffee. The Company along with its 14 bottling partners, spread across 57 manufacturing locations and a strong network of over 7000 distributors across 2.6 million retail outlets, touches the lives of millions of consumers. Its brands are some of the most preferred and most sold beverages in the country.

Ever since its re-entry into India in 1993, the Coca-Cola System has focused on new technology and several other innovations to initiate and catalyze a packaged beverage revolution in the country. Quality and technology continues to be the company’s focus 23 years hence. Today, packaged beverages are a convenient and safe source of hydration, refreshment and nutrition. Our lives are much easier with the pick and go options of packaged beverages. They are a part of our everyday lives and they count as good value-for-money options.

As a consequence of the above, the company has been able to play a role in catalyzing economic growth, technological advancement and provided direct and indirect employment opportunities to hundreds of thousands of people across the country. The Coca-Cola system itself has invested more than 2 BN USD in the economy so far and this number is likely to cross 7 BN USD by the turn of this decade. Given that the beverage industry has a significant multiplier effect, the resulting investments by allied industries like – glass, refrigeration, transportation, PET resin suppliers, technology and infrastructure industries – is also significant. As a result, we have been able to help our local supplier network to meet international standards thereby integrating them to Coca-Cola’s global operations.

The Coca-Cola System in India focused equally in the area of community and social development. Today, its programs like Support My School are helping create 600 model schools that focus on well-rounded development of children in rural and sub urban areas. Through, sustainable agricultural projects like ‘MeethaSona’, the company is working with over 80,000 sugarcane farmers in Uttar Pradesh to adopt and benefit from sustainable agriculture farming techniques/ practices. Through the drip irrigation projects in Rajasthan and Project Unnati in Andhra Pradesh, the system is working with over 50,000 farmers to increase agricultural yield and limit the use of natural resources for farming.

Among others, Coca-Cola system in India also runs the kirana retailer training program – PARIVARTAN and PRAGATI – that equip over 2.5 lakh traditional retailers on modern retailing practices. A significant number of those trained are women retailers. The company has also partnered with the Indian School of Business (ISB) in running a retail management program for middle managers, to serve the needs of the modern trade – an emerging retail channel.
