Bengaluru, DHNS: Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths raided a bar and restaurant on Residency Road on Saturday night and detained over 50 people, including the manager and hotel staff, for conducting “illegal” activities.

The police said they recovered Rs 50,000 in cash and a large number of documents and were hunting for the owner. “We received a tip-off about some illegal activities at Times Bar and Restaurant and raided the place,” DCP (West-Traffic) S Girish said.

The bar management had permission to run a ladies service bar, but the women were being used for other activities. There were more than 100 customers and over 50 women from Karnataka and other states when the raid took place.

The police said they sent the women to remand homes. The police took nearly six hours to verify the documents and the CCTV footage. They detained more than 50 people, including workers and bouncers and the manager.
